Areas of competence

Innovative product architectures, suitable materials, efficiency, aesthetics, high technology: whether you’re helping develop a new product or a mobility solution (from a ‘last-mile’ vehicle to one designed for racing), our nearly 30 years of experience in the world of design and technology can support your project and showcase it with spectacular and surprising photography.
Our last area of creation is bricks models that are decorative and educational objects.

Our approach

› From Inside-Out ‹

Rather than siloing design and engineering, we create synergies between these two areas from the very beginning of projects. A product’s architecture is thus optimised to play multiple roles, combining structural and production requirements with aesthetics that are as functional as attractive.

Advantages

simplicity red

SIMPLICITY

A multi-functional element is more complex to create because it integrates technical and aesthetic criteria, but allows the overall number of parts of a product to be reduced, and its production to be facilitated.

scale red

LIGHTNESS

This authentic design approach avoids duplication and redundancy. Superfluous components are eliminated, allowing for a reduction in weight.

economy red

SAVINGS

Fewer parts, therefore shorter nomenclature, simplified management and, ultimately, reduced costs.

efficiency red

EFFICIENCY

Reducing the number of parts allows for a reduction in the number of assembly operation steps, and therefore smaller production lines.

sustainable red

SUSTAINABILITY

Reduction in components, therefore less transport from suppliers, reduction in logistics journeys, energy required for assembly operations, and fewer disassembly steps at the end of the product’s life.

Developpement process

We support you from defining the product architecture to its promotion

Machine structure marker sketch

Product architecture is defined by combining structural, production, ergonomic, style, and cost constraints.

It all begins with freehand sketches to visualise the creation of new concepts. From ballpoint pen sketches in a notebook during meetings with the development teams to more elaborate sketches, coloured with markers or the graphics tablet.

The interface between the object and the eye: styling. Once the product architecture is defined, the style research optimises the proportions and surface treatments to achieve a harmonious aesthetic.

The lines are always drawn with a ballpoint pen, while colouring can be done with the graphics tablet or markers.

Strong visuals are essential to represent concepts as faithfully as possible to a variety of audiences (marketing, investors, clients, etc.) before moving on to the 3D modelling phase.

They are created using graphics tablet based on freehand sketches.

Whether it’s the structure or the skin of a product, CAD modelling allows to create digital concepts that will be then used to create 3D printed models, photorealistic renderings and, of course, surface data that engineers will use for their construction activities.

3D models are used as a basis for creating photorealistic, even ‘surreal’ visuals for presentations to clients/investors/… or for promotional purposes.

Exposed views, ghost views, wireframe drawings or with nomenclature: nothing better to highlight the architecture of a project for high-impact presentations or promotional publications.

Whether it’s for small or large-scale visuals, posters, product logos or corporate identities, our expertise is extensive and ready to meet all your needs.

Projects are primarily created in vectors to adapt to all formats without compromising quality.

The design of a stand for an exhibition or a fair must effectively showcase the product and be perfectly aligned with it. Visual identity, visitor flow, practicality for staff, modularity and cost are some of the fundamental parameters to be respected.

From ideation sketches to the creation of 3D files that will be sent to the stand builder, REDERA design handles every step.

The founder

Alexandre Rossier

Alexandre Rossier portrait

I was born in Sion, Switzerland. Alongside my studies at the Collège des Creusets, I studied classical trumpet at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Genève, where I received a First Prize in Virtuosity with Distinction in 1993. I then began design studies at the Art Center (Europe) in Vevey, which continued at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and concluded in spring ’97.

My professional career began in Piedmont, Italy, at Bertone, then continued at Honda Automobiles in the advanced design studio in the Lombardy capital (Segno Milano). After this decade in Italy, I moved to Salzburg,Austria, where KISKA (one of Europe’s largest independent design agency) hired me. I had the opportunity to work on projects for numerous clients, primarily in the fields of mobility and high technology.

Eversys S.A. (one of the world’s leading manufacturers of automatic professional coffee machines) recruited me in 2019 as Head of Design: a return to my native Valais…
